Level 3 Assessors Award (TAQA)

If you would like to develop your skills and knowledge in order to professionally train others within your organisation, then the Level 3 Assessors Award (TAQA) could be perfect for you. This competence-based qualification takes you through the principles and practices of assessment and teaches how to assess occupational competence and workplace skills, knowledge and understanding.

As part of the Level 3 Assessors Award (TAQA), you will support a minimum of two learners to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. On completion of the Level 3 Assessors Award (TAQA), you will have a set of skills and a qualification which will give you opportunities in the workplace for career progression.

Additional Information


Location: Work-Based and Self-Study

Duration: 6 – 9 Months

Entry Requirements: You should have 2 years experience within your job role or within a particular sector

Employee Progression: You could progress on to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, the Level 4 Certificate in Internal Verification or a higher level Management and Leadership framework.

Course Content

Example Units:

UNIT 1 – Understand the Principles and Practices of Assessment

You will develop a knowledge and understanding of the assessment principles and processes of learning and development for adult learners. 

UNIT 3 – Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding

This unit will support you to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills in the assessment of learning and development outside of the working environment. Examples of training includes assessing a learner within a simulated environment, the use of skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments and the recognition of prior learning. 

Costs/Funding

This qualification can be funded as a stand-alone qualification through the Advanced Learner Loan. Alternatively, this Level 3 is also available commercially as a stand-alone qualification.
