Level 5 in Management and Leadership
Professional Middle and Senior Managers are often highly motivated individuals who aspire to develop their core management skills. In an Early Years setting, the Level 5 framework supports individuals to consider how they can contribute to the development of a strategic plan, the designing of business processes, manage strategic change and provide strong leadership and management within the organisation.
Location: Work Based
Duration: 15 – 18 Months
Entry Requirements: Employees should hold a contract of employment and be employed for a minimum of 16hrs per week.
Employee Progression: Successful employees could progress on to a Level 6 or 7 in Management and Leadership.
UNIT 10 – Manage Strategic Marketing Activities
This unit supports Senior Managers to effectively market services to support the organisation to become or maintain their position as local leaders in the provision of early years care. As a direct result, their intervention brings growth and improved profitability. Individuals will also consider marketing, competitive pricing and a clear communication strategy which can be monitored to assess success and establish improvements.
UNIT 26 – Lead the Development of a Knowledge Management Strategy
The unit aims to provide Senior Early Years Managers with a framework to gather, organise, share and analyse organisational knowledge in relation to resource, document and people management. Learning includes the consideration of push and pull strategies, the use of technology and the management of strategic assets. Furthermore, this unit considers the identification of business critical knowledge and the establishment of knowledge management role models to promote the benefits through communication.
This qualification can be fully funded within an Apprenticeship framework. Alternatively, it is available commercially as a stand-alone qualification. At present, Level 5 qualifications are not eligible for Advanced Learner Loans.
