Designed for first line manager and facilities supervisors, the Level 3 in Facilities Management supports a range of operations including premises and building maintenance, catering, reception and security. Learners would continue to develop skills and practices in the monitoring and management of resources and assets, accident and emergency procedures, health and safety, contingency planning, environmental sustainability and recruitment of staff.

Location: Work Based

Duration: 15 – 18 Months

Entry Requirements: Employees should hold a contract of employment and be employed for a minimum of 16hrs per week.

Employee progression: Successful employees could progress on to a higher level Management and Leadership framework.

Course Content

Example Units:

UNIT 1 – Understand Facilities Management for Businesses and Organisations

This unit looks at the functioning of facilities management as well as the effect of facilities management on the primary activities of an organisation.

UNIT 10 – Managing Utility Services and Energy Efficiency in the Workplace

The unit aims to develop learners’ understanding of utility services management and improving energy efficiency within their own organisation.

On completion of this unit, learners will know how to manage utility services effectively in order to match supply with demand and to obtain the most cost-effective service provision.

Costs/Funding

This qualification can be fully funded within an Apprenticeship framework and as a stand-alone qualification through the Advanced Learner Loan. Alternatively, this Level 3 is also available commercially as a stand-alone qualification.
