Senior Supply Chain Managers make strategic decisions that impact the supply chain across multiple cross-cutting themes including legal and ethical compliance, organisational health, safety and security and stakeholder management. Leaders carrying out supply chain activities will benefit from undertaking the Level 5 Diploma framework, demonstrating ability to analyse information, and plan and implement change, strategy and operational plans.

Location: Work Based

Duration: 15 – 18 Months

Entry Requirements: Employees should hold a contract of employment and be employed for a minimum of 16hrs per week.

Employee progression: Successful employees could progress on to Level 6 or 7 in Management and Leadership

Course Content

Example Units:

UNIT 24 – Apply Improvements to the Supply Chain

This unit supports the application of improvements to the supply chain including the obtaining of information, applying improvements in accordance with plans and procedures and identifying problems and providing feedback.

UNIT 51 – Develop a Strategic Business Plan in Supply Chain Management

The unit considers how to provide the organisation with a clear sense of direction and a long-term plan that will enable forward movement and provide a coherent vision that gives transparency of where the organisation is going and how the strategic plan can be achieved.

Costs/Funding

This qualification can be fully funded within an Apprenticeship framework. Alternatively, it is available commercially as a stand-alone qualification. At present, Level 5 qualifications are not eligible for Advanced Learner Loans.
