Transporting Freight by Road L3
Experienced drivers support the organisation to deliver excellent customer care through the full process of road distribution. The Level 3 framework supports employers to invest in their driver workforce and implement improvements across the collection and delivery process. Drivers completing the framework will consider how to respond to problems identified in the operation, improve their personal performance and optimise the use of resources.
Location: Work Based
Duration: 15 – 18 Months
Entry Requirements: Employees should hold a contract of employment and be employed for a minimum of 16hrs per week.
Employee progression: Successful employees could progress on to a Level 3 framework in Logistics Operations or in Leadership and Management.
UNIT 2 – Minimise the Environmental Impact of Logistics Operations
This unit supports experienced drivers to consider their environmental impact and identify ways that they can support the reduction of the organisation’s environmental footprint.
UNIT 14 – Principles of Food Safety Supervision in Logistics
The unit develops the knowledge and understanding a driver requires in the transportation of food goods. Drivers will learn how to ensure compliance with food safety legislation, the application and monitoring of organisational procedure and the importance of personal hygiene in the distribution of food goods.
This qualification can be fully funded within an Apprenticeship framework and as a stand-alone qualification through the Advanced Learner Loan. Alternatively, this Level 3 is also available commercially as a stand-alone qualification.
