L2 IT User Skills

Robust IT systems and processes are essential within a school and academy setting. Employees who maintain the IT systems at your setting support both data management and data protection, the optimisation of staff efficiency and enhance effective internal and external communication.

Employees on the Level 2 IT User framework will develop their skills, knowledge and understanding on both software and hardware, from database systems, to media and presentation software, and the effective use of mobile and digital technologies.

Location: Work Based

Duration: 12 – 15 Months

Entry Requirements: Employees should hold a contract of employment and be employed for a minimum of 16hrs per week.

Employee Progression: Successful employees could progress on to the Advanced IT Users framework.

Course Content

Example Units:

UNIT 102 – IT User Fundamentals

This unit is about the skills and techniques to operate IT systems for routine and straightforward activities, to respond to common IT errors and problems and review own use of IT.

UNIT 125 – Presentation Software

This unit is about the skills and knowledge to use presentation software tools and techniques to produce routine presentations combining different media.

Costs/Funding

This qualification can be fully funded within an Apprenticeship framework. Alternatively, it is available commercially as a stand-alone qualification.

At present, Level 2 qualifications are not eligible for Advanced Learner Loans.
