Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Course
The Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) course is aimed at those learners currently working as a teaching assistant who wish to progress to Higher Level Teaching Assistant status.
The Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants will provide learners with knowledge and understanding when analysing and addressing the different challenges that classroom assistants are likely to encounter.
Location: Work Based
Duration: 15 – 18 Months
Entry Requirements: Employees should hold a contract of employment and be employed for a minimum of 16hrs per week.
Employee progression: Successful employees could progress on to a higher level Management and Leadership framework.
H/508/2484 – Child Development and wellbeing
This unit aims to help the learner to understand the different stages of child development, the factors that can influence and affect children’s development, and how to recognise and respect the contribution that parents and carers can make to the development and well-being of children and young people.
K/508/2485 – Supporting Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs
The unit aims to support learners in accessing the curriculum in accordance with the special educational needs (SEN) code of practice and disabilities legislation while also understanding the special educational needs for learners with sensory and/or physical needs.
The HLTA is offered as a stand-alone qualification through the Advanced Learner Loan. Alternatively, this Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) course is also available commercially as a stand-alone qualification.
