Intermediate Level Team Leading

As a team leader, you ensure that strategic decisions are communicated effectively to your team and throughout the whole organisation, and ensure that processes and procedures are sustainably managed. The Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading framework aims to introduce you to the principles of team leading, team communication, managing personal performance and the leading and managing of a team. You will also develop knowledge and understanding on a range of topics including managing conflict, collaborating with other departments, resolving customer complaints and contributing to meetings in a business environment.

Location: Work Based

Duration: 12 – 15 Months

Entry Requirements: You should hold a contract of employment and be employed for a minimum of 16hrs per week.

Employee Progression: You could progress on to the Level 3 in Management framework or specialise in a higher level framework in a specific area of Logistics, Manufacturing or Supply Chain.

Course Content

Example Units:

UNIT 10 – Manage Team Performance

This unit will support you to understand and implement the principles of benchmarking, setting and maintain the standards and quality control required by the team. You will consider the management of workload within the team, assess team performance and communication and ensure that all members understand the purpose of the team and the goals set.  

UNIT 26 – Develop a Presentation

The unit aims to develop your skills to present information clearly both visually and verbally, using these skills in both a formal and informal setting to instruct, persuade and inform your audience. You will consider the advantages and disadvantages of using different communication methods to present information and demonstrate your ability to plan, design, organise and prepare information for presentation.


This qualification can be fully funded within an Apprenticeship framework. Alternatively, it is available commercially as a stand-alone qualification.

At present, Level 2 qualifications are not eligible for Advanced Learner Loans.
