How you’ll learn

Delivered by Sage, our accounting and payroll software course is provided online as a self-study course. You can also access the materials via mobile, so you’ll be able to study at times and locations that are convenient for you.

You’ll have access to Sage 50 Cloud Professional software for six months. You’ll be able to access all the online learning materials on the Sage Qualifications e-learning Portal – including formative and practice simulations.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Set up the company details and create employee records
  • Calculate gross pay and process the payroll run
  • Set up pension schemes, non-statutory payments and deductions
  • Learn about statutory sick pay (SSP)
  • Produce payslips and end-of-period payroll reports for HMRC 

How you’ll be assessed

You’ll complete self-assessments and a practice test, followed by a final online assessment.

Career progression

After successfully completing this accounting and payroll software course, you’ll be awarded the Level 1 Sage Certificate in Computerised Payroll. With this qualification you’ll enhance your employability – and you could move on to the Level 2 Sage Certificate in Computerised Payroll, a GCSE-level qualification, and potentially the A-Level-equivalent Level 3 Sage Certificate in Computerised Payroll.
