How this accounting Apprenticeship works

How you’ll learn

Delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, our accounting apprenticeship programme combines live online workshops, one-to-one coaching and a virtual learning environment. You’ll be able to access online lessons any time and you’ll join online classes.

The modules you’ll study

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping
  • Principles of Bookkeeping Controls
  • Principles of Costing
  • The Business Environment

How you’ll be assessed

You’ll complete formative assessments throughout the programme, compiling a portfolio of evidence.

At the end of the accounting apprenticeship you’ll complete a summative end-point assessment – designed to check whether you’ve developed the required knowledge, skills and behaviours. This is conducted by an independent body to make sure it’s impartial. For this course, your end-point assessment organisation is AAT.

In this assessment you’ll complete a synoptic test of the knowledge and skills you’ve gained. You’ll also complete a portfolio and reflective discussion with an independent end-point assessor – to examine your evidence and your learner journey.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this apprenticeship. Previous knowledge of accounting or a Level 1 Bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous but not essential. Apprentices will need to be employed in a relevant finance, bookkeeping or accounting role.

During the apprenticeship you’ll need to complete Level 2 Maths and English before you take the end-point assessment – if you haven’t already achieved these.
