Level 4 AAT Professional Accounting / Taxation Technician Apprenticeship

Develop an in-depth knowledge base on this accounting apprenticeship by applying course theory to your on-the-job training. Study for an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification that gives you the practical experience, knowledge and skills to become a highly competent accounting professional. Plus the all-important certification employers want – equivalent to the first year of a university degree.

What you’ll learn

How this accounting & finance course works

How you’ll learn

Delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, our accounting apprenticeship programme combines live online workshops, one-to-one coaching and a virtual learning environment. You’ll be able to access online lessons any time and you’ll join face-to-face classes every Thursday. You also get remote learning support and workplace mentoring.

How you’ll be assessed

You’ll complete formative assessments throughout the programme, compiling a portfolio of evidence.

At the end of the accounting apprenticeship you’ll complete a summative end-point assessment – designed to check whether you’ve developed the required knowledge, skills and behaviours. This is conducted by an independent body to make sure it’s impartial. For this course, your end-point assessment organisation is AAT.

In this assessment you’ll complete computer-based exams and a synoptic assessment – which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.

Entry requirements

You must have a sound knowledge of accounting principles to undertake this AAT Level 4 accounting apprenticeship – plus a range of prior qualifications.

  • AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting
  • 5 GCSEs (graded A* to C or 9 to 5) or equivalent
  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • Resident in the UK/EEA/EU for the last 3 years

You’ll also need to be able to meet module requirements through a relevant job role – and if you’re applying for a new apprentice role, they may ask for A levels, a Level 3 apprenticeship or other qualifications/experience.

Career progression

After successfully completing this accountancy programme, you’ll be awarded with the internationally-recognised AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting – allowing you to seek employment with confidence or to study chartered accountancy.
