Level 3 Diploma in Playwork Course

This is an in-depth playwork course to demonstrate your skills as a Playwork Specialist. Increase your knowledge and employability with a diploma awarded by the Northern Council for Further Education (NCFE).

  • Qualification – NCFE Cache Level 3 Diploma in Playwork
  • Learning style – face-to-face, online and workplace coaching
  • Progression – gain a valuable qualification and progress to Level 5 courses

What you’ll learn

On this playwork course, you’ll study a range of areas of practice – including playwork principles and organisational frameworks. In terms of activities, you’ll consider self-directed play, wellbeing, health and safety, relationships and supporting positive outcomes for children and young people. The course also covers engaging parents, carers and families in a play environment – as well as inclusive play, including working with disabled children and young people.

The programme combines delivery sessions, virtual learning, masterclasses, observations and workplace coach visits.

You’ll also be able to choose from a range of optional topics to match your professional development and job role. These can include:

How you’ll be assessed

You’ll build a portfolio of evidence and be observed in your workplace. You’ll also complete professional discussions to reflect on your practice, as well as researching and writing assignments.

Entry requirements

You’ll need to meet these requirements:

  • Resident in the UK/EEA/EU for the last 3 years
  • Meet module requirements through a relevant job role
  • 18 years of age

Career progression

After successfully completing this childcare course, you’ll be awarded the NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Playwork (NVQ). With this qualification you’ll demonstrate your skills and enhance your employability.
