As of July 31st 2020, the Level 3 Children and Young People Workforce framework is no longer available for funding via the Apprenticeship Levy. However, it remains available for new starts as a standalone qualification which can either be privately funded or funded via the Advanced Learner Loan. Get in touch to find out more information.
As a practitioner working with children and young people, the NCFE Cache Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce will develop knowledge and skills to support children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. The Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce is available to a range of settings including Education Support Practitioners, Foster Carers, Children and Families Support Workers and Family Centre staff.
As part of the framework, you will be assessed within the workplace and develop skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- Promoting communication, equality, diversity and inclusion
- Children and young people development in settings
- Understand and implement the principles of duty of care and partnership working
- The development of positive relationships
- Safeguarding, prevent and online safety
You will also select from a range of optional units according to your professional development and job role.
To complete the course, you will undertake formative and summative assessment including observations in the workplace, 1-2-1 coaching sessions, professional discussions, assignments and the production of a portfolio of practice in the role.
