Level 3 Team Leader Supervisor Apprenticeship

This leadership apprenticeship is a valuable training route for developing management knowledge, skills and behaviours. You’ll learn about different leadership styles and the benefits of coaching to support people and improve performance. You’ll be able to deliver operational performance and demonstrate interpersonal excellence as an effective team leader or supervisor – all while gaining a BTEC qualification to enhance your employability.

Off-the-job training

With an apprenticeship you take 20% of your time at work to complete off-the-job training. It’s an innovative way for businesses to gain a multi-skilled workforce – you’ll be able to bring sector insights and the latest knowledge into your organisation.

What you’ll learn

On this team leader course, you’ll study organisational cultures, equality, diversity and inclusion – as well as team dynamics and motivation techniques. You’ll learn how to conduct appraisals, review performance, manage absence, provide feedback and recognise achievement. You’ll also gain knowledge of HR systems, legal requirements, organisational strategy, governance and budgets.

How you’ll learn

The programme combines specialist onsite delivery, workshops and directed learning – including virtual learning, masterclasses and workplace coach visits. You’ll gain confidence in analysing data to inform your problem-solving and decision-making techniques.

How you’ll be assessed

At the end of the apprenticeship you’ll complete an end-point assessment – designed to check whether you’ve developed the required skills, knowledge and behaviours. This is conducted by an independent body to make sure it’s impartial. For this course, your end-point assessment organisation is TQUK.

You’ll complete a small multiple-choice test and present a portfolio of evidence. You’ll also have a professional discussion about being a team leader/supervisor with an external assessor.

Entry requirements

You’ll need to meet these requirements:

  • Level 2 English and Maths equivalent
  • Resident in the UK/EEA/EU for the last 3 years
  • Meet module requirements through a relevant job role

Career progression

After successfully completing this team leader course, you’ll be awarded the BTEC Level 3 Diploma for Managers. With this qualification you’ll enhance your employability – and you could move on to study the Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship, and potentially the Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship.
