Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship

Gain a high-level qualification in one of the most life-giving roles around. Off-the-job training

With an apprenticeship you take 20% of your time at work to complete off-the-job training. It’s an innovative way for businesses to gain a multi-skilled workforce – you’ll be able to bring sector insights and the latest knowledge into your organisation.

We’ll support you to train during work hours and confidently evidence your off-the-job learning. You’ll immediately add value by applying your learning to your role – so it’s a win-win for both you and your employer.

What you’ll learn

On this coaching course, you’ll learn about the latest coaching and mentoring thinking while getting some great tools and techniques. You’ll practice and get feedback on your coaching to help you adapt to any environment. You’ll understand how to develop and sustain excellent practice for your career in strategic coaching and mentoring.

How you’ll learn

You’ll have multiple opportunities to reflect and revise your coaching and mentoring practice through interactive group sessions, 1 to 1 coaching and by delivering your own coaching practice.

  • Coaching and Mentoring in Today’s Workspace
  • Coaching Ethics and Boundaries
  • Coaching Tools, Techniques and Insight
  • Design and Delivery of Coaching Intervention


How you’ll be assessed

At the end of the apprenticeship you’ll complete an end-point assessment – designed to check whether you’ve developed the required skills, knowledge and behaviours. This is conducted by an independent body to make sure it’s impartial. For this course, your end-point assessment organisation is AIM

You’ll complete an observation, an interview and a presentation of your coaching practice within a portolio of work – plus a knowledge test.

Entry requirements

You’ll need to meet these requirements:

  • Level 2 English and Maths equivalent
  • Resident in the UK/EEA/EU for the last 3 years
  • Meet module requirements through a relevant job role

Career progression

After successfully completing this coaching course, you’ll be awarded the Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring. You’ll be eligible to register with either the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, the Association of Coaching, or the International Coaching Federation.

You could also progress on to further higher education opportunities in coaching and mentoring, including a Level 7 Masters.
