Level 3 Facilities Management Supervisor Apprenticeship

Develop your skills in Facilities Management (FM) services through an apprenticeship programme that adds value to both your professional development and your employing organisation. This could be in hard and soft FM, health & safety, procurement, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and FM finance management.

  • Qualification – optional IWFM Award in FM
  • Learning styleface-to-face, online and workplace coaching
  • Progression – grow your knowledge and confidence in FM to strengthen your ability to support your core business activities
  • Duration – typically 15 to 21 months

 

Off-the-job training

As an apprentice, you take 6 hours per week of your time at work to complete off-the-job training. It’s an innovative way for businesses to gain a multi-skilled workforce – you’ll be able to bring sector insights and the latest knowledge into your organisation.

We’ll support you to train during work hours and confidently evidence your off-the-job learning, supported and facilitated by your employer. You’ll immediately add value by applying your learning to your role – so it’s beneficial for both you and your employer.

What you’ll learn

You’ll learn how to draft a service specification and understand the contractual requirements between your organisation and the client to successfully achieve service delivery targets. You’ll be able to provide customer service skills and proactive solutions to problems while monitoring costs and budgets. You’ll also gain insight into health and safety in the workplace, finance, relationship management and how to develop opportunities for innovation.

How you’ll learn

This facilities management programme combines online, onsite and specialist-led learning to give you an in-depth understanding of facilities management. This includes delivery sessions, virtual learning, masterclasses, workplace coach visits and hearing from guest speakers in the industry. You’ll also visit other businesses to see their facilities model in action, enabling you to compare, contrast and analyse your own model while you learn.

How you’ll be assessed

You’ll complete formative assessments throughout the programme, compiling a portfolio of evidence.

At the end of the apprenticeship you’ll complete a summative end-point assessment – designed to check whether you’ve developed the required knowledge, skills and behaviours. This is conducted by an independent body to make sure it’s impartial. For this course, your end-point assessment organisations are the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) and Active IQ.

You’ll complete a short multiple-choice test and have a competency-based interview with an independent end-point assessor.


Entry requirements

You’ll need to meet these requirements:

  • Level 2 in English and Maths Functional Skills or equivalent
  • Resident in the UK/EEA/EU for the last 3 years
  • Meet module requirements through your employment in a relevant job role

Career progression

After successfully completing this FM programme, you’ll enhance your employability as a Facilities Manager – and you could move on to study the Level 4 Facilities Manager apprenticeship programme, and potentially Level 6 training to become a Senior Manager / Head of Facilities Management.

You’ll also be an affiliate member of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) during the programme, and an associate member afterwards.
