Hazel is working towards the AAT Level 2 Accounts Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Standard which she started during the first national lockdown in April 2020. Hazel works as part of the administrative team at Stokes Wood Primary School, and at the time of enrolment to her apprenticeship, faced unprecedented challenges in her job role due to the Covid-19 (C-19) pandemic. Despite these testing times, Hazel has always remained positive and has chosen to push forward and succeed on her apprenticeship. Despite not being able to complete AAT computer-based assessments (CBAs) during the first C-19 lockdown, Hazel’s Trainer Coach, Will Paul, focused her on the on-programme portfolio. This element takes a considerable amount of time and is a large part of the apprenticeship. Within weeks, Hazel submitted her first assignment, which was of exceptionally high-quality, and has now completed her portfolio of evidence. As a result of this change to her delivery model, Hazel can now focus her time on learning the course material and preparing and sitting CBAs, and preparing for her End Point Assessment (EPA). Hazels’ can-do attitude and desire to drive forward has been the foundation to her success to date and shown a tremendous amount of dedication and passion towards her studies. The qualities that Hazel has demonstrated are part of who she is and how she lives her life and, as a result, Hazel has now completed her first two AAT CBAs with flying colours – a testament to her hard work and commitment.
“When I started this course, I thought I would have lots of time on my hands with a national pandemic and schools closing, how wrong I was! With this came a new set of challenges faced by school admin teams, such as food parcels for our Free School Meal families, which we were making over 100 a week during the peak of the pandemic. Without Will’s support and encouragement, I wouldn’t have had all assignments and my first exam completed by the end of the year, so thank you Will & Train Together for all the support and here’s to a successful completion of the course in the months ahead.” – Hazel Bramley
Hazel is our Accountancy and Professional Services Apprentice of the Year 2021! Congratulation Hazel – we are all really looking forward to seeing you succeed and achieve a great result in your EPA!
